The Palmerston School Council Fundraiser Fresh From The Farm begins today and closes Tuesday. October 15.

Since 2013 Fresh from the Farm school fundraising has connected over 2,600 schools with Ontario farmers and enabled them to raise over $2 million for school initiatives by selling over 4.6 million pounds of Ontario grown fruits and vegetables.

In 2022 Palmerston families raised over $1000 with this drive! Our hope is to double that this year!

For Palmerston’s Fundraising Drive you can order the following for pick up from the school.

Vegetable Bundle: $22.00 Includes

▪ 5 lb bag white potatoes ▪ 3 lb bag sweet potatoes ▪ 3 lb bag yellow onions ▪ 3 lb bag orange carrots

Apple Bundle: $24.00

- 8 lb bag Ambrosia apples. They are a beautiful bright pinkish red and light yellow coloured apple. They are crisp and juicy with a distinct sweet aroma and sweet low acid flavour.

Council will also take orders for the local food bank located on Bathurst https://lighthousecentre.ca/

Orders can be placed via School Cash Online!

Why Participate?

▪ All moneys raised will go towards the Palmerston School Council enrichment initiatives (more details below)

▪ Families enjoy fresh, Ontario-grown fruit and vegetables.

▪Fresh from the Farm promotes a healthy school environment while providing an opportunity for students to raise money for school initiatives.

▪ Supports Ontario farmers and our local economy

The council will receive a 10 day advance delivery notice with specific date. Then orders will be received between November 4 and December 5. On the delivery day, parent volunteers receive packaged products and package all vegetable bundles together into Fresh from the Farm bags provided. Apple bundles arrive pre-packaged in separate bags.

Please consider ordering to share with friends, family or neighbours that you think would like to support the school. The funds raised will be used to help fund special initiatives at the school such as supplement Arts (Music, Media Literacy, Dance, Drama, etc.) and STEM programs as well as to purchase technology for the classrooms.

Sign up HERE to volunteer - as soon as delivery and distribution date are announced Council will reach out to confirm your availability.

Any questions of if you would like to volunteer for the distribution day – feel free to reach out to School Council Chair Laura at Laura.heathpotter@bell.net.

Happy Fall and Go Panthers!
